Special Delivery Class

We went to part one of a special delivery class on Monday night. It really made things seem real to me. I must admit I was somewhat afraid after hearing the details of labor. Malcolm had to work on Wednesday night so I went to the second part of the class alone. It was movie night. They showed videos of a vaginal birth, cesarean and of an epidural being applied. I could have done without seeing the vaginal birth video and the idea of an epidural makes me cringe (even if moms swear it's a life saver). This class was the final item I had left on my to-do list before having Kirsten, so I guess you can say I'm all set (or as prepared as any first time mom can be for labor). One thing I can say is that the class further affirmed for me how amazing God is and how special the miracle of life truly is. It is a surreal experience and I feel blessed to be in this position to bring a life into the world.
